SHREVEPORT, LA - Services will be held Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be Bro. Kevin Smead, pastor of Grace Baptist Church, Glenwood, Arkansas. Visitiation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m Friday, October 12, 2012 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel

A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Moss Hill Cemetery in Bearden, Arkansas at 3:00 p.m. Officiating will be Bro. Wayne Frazier, pastor of Daisy Baptist Church.

Bud lived in Shreveport, Louisiana from June 5, 1950 until June 23, 2002 when he and his wife Hortense retired to their lake home in Daisy, Arkansas. He passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012, at DeQueen Medical Center. He was born September 12, 1931 to the parents of Sim B. Young and Maud M. Young which preceded him in death.

He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond M. Young, George W. Young, and Billy E. Young, and four sisters Lela M. Arnold, Virginia Baker, Mildred Leonard, and Shirley A. Toney. He is survived by his wife of 62 years (married June 5, 1950), Hortense Hamilton Young and their beloved children, Donald Tracy Young and wife Diane Adcock Young and David Boyd Young and wife Carrie Kissner Young. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Craig Michael Young, Bryan Christopher Young, Lyla Jeanette Young, and Ave Danielle Kissner. He is also survived by three brothers, Henry T. Young, Harry E. Young and wife Grace Young, and Ray L. Young and wife Renie Young and many nieces and nephews.

He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Glenwood, Arkansas. Prior to becoming a member of Grace Baptist he was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church. While he lived in Shreveport he was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.

Bud served in the U. S. Air Force from December 26, 1951 through December, 1955. He worked for Air Reduction Company and was a partner in American Oxygen Company. During his employment years he serviced as the President of Purchasing Managers Association, Shreveport, LA and was Pro-D Chairman of the District Purchasing Managers Association. He was very active in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America with his two sons.

Honoring Bud, as pallbearers will be Thomas Boyd, Scott Miller, DeWayne Hamilton, Ray Edward Young, Josh Miller, Cole Lillig, Scott Adcock, and Nelson Lively. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Miller, Doyle Toney, and Greg Barton.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff and medical services of DeQueen Medical Center and all of the friends and family that provided their love and support during his time of illness, especially Fran Frazier for her everyday support.
