Shreveport, LA- Funeral services celebrating the life of W.A. Franks, 68, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Officiating will be Father Phil Michaels of St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church. Interment will follow with Shreveport Police Honors at Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Franks was born on October 2, 1944 in Shreveport, LA and passed away on March 25, 2013. Andy served his country proudly in the U.S. Army and then joined the Shreveport Police Department where he served as the Assistant Chief of Police until his retirement in 1990. He was a very loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. His wife was the light of his life. Andy loved spending time with his grandkids, playing cards and fishing with friends. Andy loved reading western books of which Louis L'Amour was his favorite.

Preceding Mr. Franks in death were his parents and one sister, Sarah Zuniga.

Left to cherish beautiful memories of Mr. Franks are his wife, Janice Franks; daughters, Theresa Caldwell and husband Steve and Jennifer Murphy and husband Patrick; one sister, Sally Ann Perez; grandchildren, Andrew Caldwell, Alex Caldwell, Hannah Caldwell and Sarah Murphy. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

Honoring Andy as pallbearers will be: Steve Caldwell, Patrick Murphy, Drew Caldwell, Alex Caldwell, Earl Lawley, Jr., Gus Hamdan, Buddy Durbin and Ramsey Hamdan.
