SHREVEPORT,LA Funeral services for Willie Barney Lightsey, 90, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday December 31, 2012 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Scott Windham. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, December 30, 2012 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Willie was born on December 9, 1922 in Taylorsville, MS to Charlie and Cozie Lightsey. He passed away at home on December 26, 2012 with his children by his side. He was a resident of Shreveport and a retired postal employee after 30 years as a mail carrier in the Natchez, MS area. He was a member of Summer Grove Baptist Church and the Four Seasons Senior Adult Sunday School Class. Willie has enjoyed exercising at Christus Schumpert Rehab for over 20 years. Willie proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII on the U.S.S. Henry A. Wiley.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Martha Lightsey and his parents, three brothers and four sisters. He is survived by daughters, Beverly Lightsey Powers and husband, Stephen, Sheila Lightsey Wilder and husband, Mitch; grandchildren, Michael Powers, Megan Wilder, Madeline Wilder, William Mitchell Wilder, Jr.; sister, Nita Atkins, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as other family members.

Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Four Seasons Adult Sunday School Class of Summer Grove Baptist Church. Bearers of the casket will be Jimmy Dale Stringer, Jerry Stringer, Johnny Stringer, Jimmy Kennan, Mike Windham.
