Mrs. Willie was born June 26, 1921 to Willie and Ruby Nelson Thrash in Fryeburg, LA and went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 5, 2012 in Minden, LA.
She was a community servant and care giver as a nurse for over fifty-four years beginning with Dr. Fletcher and working with over ten doctors. Mrs. Willie had strong, loving hands that help birth many babies, save many lives and touched the community in so many ways. She was a special lady who was loved and admired by the entire Ringgold area even though she gave most of the population so many shots.
Mrs. Willie was honored as "Older Worker of the Year in Bienville Parish" and Grand Marshal of the Ringgold Slabtown Festival Parade, the highest honor a Ringgold resident can achieve. She was so deserving of both of these honors. She was someone who preached her own funeral and lived her life for others. She will be dearly missed by her family and the entire Ringgold community.
She was a charter and faithful member of Faith Baptist Church in Ringgold where she served as secretary until her death. Mrs. Willie was a member of the Ringgold Chapter 131 Order of Eastern Star.
Mrs. Willie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, J. D. Morgan and a great grandson, Lance Woodard.
