Golda Marie D'Artois

Funeral services for Golda Marie D'Artois, 81, of Waskom, TX, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 2, 2015, at First Baptist Church of Waskom, TX. Pastor Eric Peyton will officiate. Interment will follow in the Forest Park East-St. Vincent Cemetery in Shreveport. A time of visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, prior to the service at First Baptist Church of Waskom. Mrs. D'Artois passed away on January 30, 2015 in Shreveport, LA.



Golda Marie D'Artois was born in Haynesville, LA, on September 4, 1933 to James P. "Jimmy" Rountree and Elaine Jenkins Rountree. She was a graduate of Marshall High School, and then attended North Texas State University, and trained as a medical technologist at Confederate Memorial Hospital in Shreveport, LA. She lived and worked as a lab technician in Shreveport, and later moved to Dallas where she continued to work in the same field for 20 plus years. She and her husband later retired and moved to Waskom. Golda was a member of First Baptist Church of Waskom, and taught a women's Sunday School Class for many years. Golda was involved in many civic and social activities in the Marshall area and enjoyed touring historic homes.



Golda was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy and Elaine Rountree and her husband, William Frances "Bill" D'Artois. Surviving Golda are a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.



Pallbearers will be Jackie Nelson, Leonard Johnson, Tom Givens, Jacob Speight, Buster Gribble, and Howard Hall.
