Robert Jones Obituary
BOSSIER CITY, LA - Funeral services for Robert Parnell Jones, 49, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Greater New Zion Baptist Church, 421 Oak Ridge Dr., Benton, LA; 71006, with Pastor Donald Anderson,Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2012 at Greater New Zion Baptist Church.
Mr. Jones was a member of Greater New Zion Baptist Church and a member of the Magnolia State Peace Officers Association. He was the Captain with the Bossier City Marshal's Office with twelve years of service, and enjoyed fishing and working in the yard.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gregory Wayne Jones.
Survivors include his wife Evelyn D. Jones; three sons, JaVentress JaVondric Jones, Robert Parnell Williams, and Chavalgo (Ran) Myles; one daughter, Angel Myles; mother, Margaret Jones; three brothers, Larry Jones, Steven Jones, and Ronnie Owens; four sisters, Linda Hemphill, Keena Jones Brown (Terry), Vivian Armstrong (Tommy), Jacqueline Jordan (Dennis); three granddaughters, Aspen, Yazmin, Michayla, and a host of relatives, friends, and his beloved dog, Simba.
Pallbearers will be Detective Roy Rawls,Jr., Investigator Lamar Walker, Sgt. Richard English, Sgt. Alex Montgomery, Deputy Marshall Lynn Mc Nemar, and Sgt. Leander Matthews.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Magnolia State Peace Officers Association.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Northwest Area Special Olympics.
The family would like to express their appreciation to all law enforcement agencies, family and friends for their prayers and support.

Mr. Robert - I remember the days I worked at Barksdale Federal how you would always pick on me. Not once have I ever seen you mad or upset. You always had a smile on your face. Over the years working there I came to know you and in you I found a friend someone like a big brother. Thank you for the times you have poured into my life. Captain Jones was the first person who worked for Bossier City that I came to respect while I was going through the academy. His knowledge and work ethics earned the respect and admiration of many of the Bossier City law enforcement family. He will be missed.
