Cindy St. Amant Obituary

Cindy Stockman

St. Amant

KEITHVILLE, LA - Cindy Stockman St. Amant moved from this earth to her heavenly mansion with her heavenly Father on January 28, 2011. She was a loving mother and Mimi to three precious grandchildren, who were the light of her life while she occupied this world.

A traumatic horseback riding accident left Cindy in a vegetative state for nineteen months before her passing. But even while inhibited, Cindy left her mark on hundreds of family members and friends who kept her memory alive via visitors and constant Facebook interaction. Her impact on those she knew in this world will never cease.

A 1981 graduate of Southwood High School and a native of Shreveport, LA, Cindy moved to Alexandria, LA in 2008 where she finally fulfilled her lifelong dream of owning a ranch. Her horses, dogs, goats and other animals were some of her best friends whom she loved dearly. Despite the accident, Cindy's family and friends knew that if she were able, she would have climbed right back on the horse after she fell because that was the essence of her spirit?perseverance and determination.

Despite several years of adversity and difficulties, Cindy embraced her faith and lived happily in her element among the things she loved most?animals and plants. Just like the flowers she so carefully tended, Cindy offered blooms of life, love and laughter to everyone she met.

Along with her parents Lee and Patsy Stockman and sister Jean Stockman, Cindy is survived by her two children, Brandon St. Amant and Crystal Mikelonis; grandchildren, Audrey St. Amant, Carissa Mikelonis, and Gabrielle Angelle Alcazar; niece, Amanda Eubanks and husband, Ryan; great-nephew, Patrick Robert Eubanks; great-grandson, Bentley Alexander Alcazar; and a host of beloved extended family. Her loved ones are comforted by the truth that Cindy is once again whole and healthy in Heaven.

Visitation will be held Monday evening from 5 ? 8 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home in Shreveport. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m., also at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park.

Donations may be made in Cindy's name at Capital One Bank in Shreveport.

It's always an upsetting moment to hear about the death of a fellow classmate & friend. It makes you realize how precious life really is & that we are blessed to have known each other, even if for a short time. The Cindy I remember in highschool was a lovely girl & a good friend. My prayers are with her family.

Dear Patsy, Lee & Family, We have been praying for Cindy and those of you, who love her most for a long while now. I can still see her as a child, a teenager, and a young mother. As always, she was beautiful inside and out, just as her parents and her sister are. Know that we love all of you and wish we could be with you, at this time. Our hearts are broken, too. Cindy was my mentor, boss and friend. She was an advocate for the disabled and has helped many individuals as an RN and as an Administrator. She assisted many indivuduals with loving care and thoughtfulness. I will miss her and I am thankful I was able to spend Christmas Eve with her as she watched me decorate her room. It has been a long journey but she is now home where she will be happy. I am sure she is already planting pretty flowers for others to see and taking care of all of our animals that have gone before us. Peace has come and we are all blessed to have known her as our friend.
Special prayer to all her family.

Due to the winter storm moving in tomorrow, Abigail and I are disappointed and saddened that we will not be able to travel to Shreveport for visitation and the 'Celebration' of Cindy's life. She offered encouragement and support from a single mom who had been there...I miss our conversations. Cindy, you are loved and will be missed until I see you again. Tell Mamaw & Papaw 'hi' for me. Love you!

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I just learned of Cindy's passing and accident. My prayers go out to her Family. Although I haven't been in contact with her for several years, I remember Cindy as a beautiful, kind and caring Christian; She gave me rides home from pep squad practice when we attended Southwood together. Her Son B.J. and my Daughter Kasie were friends as well. I am glad she was able to realize her dream and is at peace with our Lord and Savior.

I am so grateful for the opportunity to meet Cindy and really enjoyed visiting with her on the cruise and her home. Two years ago this week, we went to her home to pick up a puppy she had rescued. Our "Cabby" is very loved and now I wish we had named her "Cindy". Cindy had such a pretty smile and so much compassion, a real joy to be around. She did so much for so many. My sister, Darlene, worked with her and she was such a great supervisor and friend. I thank God for his healing and I know she is in heaven singing in that heavenly choir. She will be sorely missed but never forgotten. My prayers for her family and friends.

What a blessing Cindy has been to all that know her. She was always there to help or offer comfort to those that needed it. She was a delight to spend time with and was generous with her kind words and actions. Cindy was a fabulous example of what God wants us to do with our lives. I know she is in Heaven, watching over us and is completely healed and happy. I am grateful for the time we were given with her and I will treasure the memories always.
God bless and comfort all that are left behind, especially Cindy and BJ and their families.

Cindy was such a blessing to us as she mentored me through the process of respite care for my sever profound handicapped son,Jason. Later she helped us with 24hr care for Jason through her company Northwest I.N.C.S. Every step has been harder since she has been gone and we sorely miss her guidance and support.
