David Corbett Obituary

David Robert Corbett

David Robert Corbett, 57, was born in Racine WI to Everett & Rosalie Corbett (both now deceased) and died of cancer on March 6, 2015. He attended Horlick High School before moving with his parents to Tampa FL. Eventually he ended up in Shreveport LA and married in 1984, gaining a 4-year old daughter and tea party partner, Janice Marie Franklin, in the process.

David graduated from Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Orlando FL in 1991 and worked a while at Wallace Harley Davidson in Shreveport. He was a former member of Caddo Heights UMC (serving several years as Santa's Elf) and a Charter Member of Grace Community UMC before joining Fillmore Baptist Church in Haughton.

In addition to Janice Scroggins (& husband, Jacob), David is survived by his "Daddy's Girl" and once constant companion, Katie Gayle Medlin (& husband, Kevin), and the son his Ma had wished on him, Dayton Revel Corbett (& wife, Brandy). Grandchildren include Seth, Kaden, Rosalie, Lillian, and Allie; plus step-granddaughters, Ciera and Kaelyn. He is also survived by siblings: Greg Corbett (Bonnie) of Peoria AZ, Gay Corbett of Florida, and Vicky Hoover (Tom) of Whitefish MT.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Northview Assembly of God, 3627 North Market St in Shreveport.

Many memories of first cousin David! Next closest cousin in age to me. I remember David being scolded for "passing gas" or as David said "farting" around others when he was about 11. He would run to the bathroom, turn his butt in the room, hang onto the sides of the doorway, smile, let em rip, and say ahhhh! Then run off giggling. Great memory. I am so sorry for your loss. I am happy for David's' eternal gain. Happy Easter.
