Aline J McCarty

SHREVEPORT, LA-Services celebrating the life of Aline J. McCarty, age 79, will be held at 11am on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel on Marshall Street. Officiating the service will be Bro. Thumper Miller. Interment will follow at Forest Park West on Meriwether Road. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the funeral home from 5pm to 7pm.

Aline was born January 18, 1934 in Alexandria, LA. to parents, Lindsey Paul Juneau Sr. and Hettie Parker Juneau. Aline passed away peacefully in the home of her daughter Lea Ann Stevenson, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with ALS. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 33 years, Harold Glen McCarty, his parents, Glen and Bessie McCarty and her sister, Audrey Ryder. Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Dorothy "Duffy" Gray of Alexandria, LA., brother, Lindsey Paul "Buddy" Juneau Jr., and wife, Chloe of Bossier, LA., sister-in-law, Faye Fletcher of West Monroe, LA., daughter, Susan Cay McCarty of Shreveport, LA., son, Glen Alan McCarty of Bossier, LA., daughter, Lea Ann Stevenson and husband, Eddie of Bossier, LA., grandchildren, Ashlee Broome of Bossier, LA., Justin Wicker and wife, Elizabeth of Benton, LA. and great-grandsons, Ethan Broome, Taylor Wicker and numerous nieces and nephews.

Aline was a vivacious woman who loved to laugh and never met a stranger. She enjoyed dancing, fishing, water aerobics and spending time with family. She retired from Schumpert Medical Center and went on to travel and enjoy life on Lake Bistineau with her companion of the last 22 years, Jack Custer. Aline was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Honoring Aline as pallbearers will be, Ladd Custer, Steve Juneau, Jerry Juneau Jr., Steve Forrester, Lynn Gray and Jace Gray.

Aline's family wishes to thank longtime family friend, Ben Belk for his kindness and support. They would also like to thank Aline's caregiver, Stacy for her compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials may be made to the Highland Center, 520 Olive Street Shreveport, LA 71104.
