Annie Lee Bickham Ballard

SHREVEPORT, LA - Mrs. Annie Lee Bickham Ballard, age 91, passed away in Shreveport, LA on Monday, March 24, 2008. A memorial Service under the direction of Osborn Funeral Home will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at the Hosston Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Larry Allen, Pastor of the church. A private family graveside service will be held.

Mrs. Ballard was born on September 24, 1916 in Shreveport, LA and was a resident of Hosston, Oil City, and Shreveport all of her life. She was a long-time member of Hosston Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and church secretary. Mrs. Ballard was a member of the Oil City Rotary Anns and the Hobby Club. She worked along side her husband at Caddo Pine Island Corporation.

Mrs. Ballard was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, John W. Ballard; her parents, Alexander N. and Annie Teacle Bickham; siblings, A.N. Bickham Jr., Helen Puckett, Julia Johnson, Francis Bickham, Ruby Baxter, James Bickham, Blanche Bickham, Willie Bickham, and Betty Roberts. She is survived by siblings, Charles Bickham, Mary Robertson, and Jack Bickham; sons, John R. Ballard and wife, Sue, and Pete Ballard and wife, Linda; grandchildren, Sonny Ballard, Beth Ballard, Julie Spencer and husband, Chuck, Jan Griffin and husband, Jason, Mickey Ballard and wife, Sue Ellen, David Ballard and wife, Aimee, Traci Miller and husband, Andrew, Nita Fontenot and husband, David, and Bill Ballard; great grandchildren, Meagan and Christopher Stull, Russell and Hannah Miller, Jake Ballard, and Wit Cole, and Annie Ballard; and several brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Hosston Baptist Church.
