Clayton Grigg Obituary
SHREVEPORT, LA - The Funeral for Clayton Crawford Grigg will be held on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 200 Carrol Street, Shreveport, LA 71105. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Forest Park East Cemetery, 3700 St. Vincent Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71103, where Clayton will be buried beside his daughter BJ. A viewing for family and friends will be held the day before on Sunday, June 4, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, LA 71118.
Clayton passed away in Alexandria, VA at the age of 80. Clayton was a native of Bienville, Louisiana. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana Tech. He worked for nearly two decades in the oil and gas industry before becoming a very successful stock and bond broker for over 30 years. He was active in his community and church, served and honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, and held elected office serving on the Caddo Parish Police Jury.
Clayton is survived by his loving wife Lou Anne; daughters, Bobbie Sevy and Charolette Angele; son, Gurvais Grigg; ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; his sister, Betty Jane Fair; brother, John Richard Grigg; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. Preceding Clayton in death is his father, Glade Clayton Grigg; mother, Jewel Estelle Crawford; and daughter, Betty Jane "BJ" Grigg, who died at the age of 18 in 1989.

The Final Salute
Brothers in Arms, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged Hand Salutes as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This Hand Salute is the last that we shall render to Clayton Crawford Grigg our Brother-in-Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Clayton. To Clayton it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country while serving in the U.S. Army. Clayton, we commend you for your honorable service. You are a true patriot, who served with honor and distinction. You upheld the finest qualities of an American patriot warrior: courage, commitment, generosity, sacrifice, love and devotion to family and country. You were a true friend. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.
