Elwyn Evans Obituary
Elwyn "Beansie" Evans

Services celebrating the life of Elwyn "Beansie" Evans will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 11am at Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport, LA. Officiating the service will be Reverend Mark Bray.

Mr. Evans was born on May 5, 1926 in Sharon Springs, NY. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and Korea and loved his family dearly. He was an extremely successful high school basketball coach at Remsen High School, Canajoharie High School, and Herkimer High School in upstate New York before coaching at the college level. Mr. Evans went to be with our Heavenly Father on March 8, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Gertrude Evans.

Left to cherish his precious memory are sons Glenn S. Evans and wife Karen, Jeffrey E. Evans and wife Joan; daughter, Lori L. Bryant and husband Ross; brothers, Floyd, Francis and Wayne Evans; sisters, Darla Jean Evans and Janis Szabo; grandchildren, Scott Evans, Trey Evans, Brian Evans, Dylan Evans, and Amanda Evans.

The family would like to thank the staff at the NW LA War Veterans Home for their special care and suggests that memorials be made to a .
