Mr. Freddie McKinley

SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Freddie McKinley, 63, will be held Saturday, February 16, 2013, 12:00 noon at Hopewell Baptist Church, Dr. Dwayne L. Johnson, Sr., officiating. Interment will be Monday, February 18, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at the NW LA Veterans Cemetery. Family hour will be Friday, February 15, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hopewell B. C.

Freddie passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2013. He was a lifelong resident of Shreveport, LA except for the two years he spent in the U.S. Army. After receiving an Honorable Discharge, he returned home and worked for the Veterans Hospital.

He was preceded in death by this father Bennie L. McKinley and grandparents. He leaves to cherish his memories: mother, Lizzie Lou McKinley; two daughters, Cigale Jones (Anthony), Shreveport, Tiffany Hughes (Daryl), Dallas, TX and one son, Freddie McKinley, Jr., Shreveport; three brothers, Billy R. McKinley (Margaret), Murfreesboro, TN, Ronnie R. Bonner, Monterey, CA and Harold L. McKinley, Shreveport; two sisters, Lizzie M. Scott (Thomas) and Peggy A. Myles, Shreveport; five grandchildren, Jazmine, Jarmarsy, Breunica, Szavian and LaQuentin: three great grandchildren, DeVonte', Di'mon and DeMarion; two special aunts, Lucy Bonner and Mercie D. Thigpen, Shreveport and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Shreveport Fire Department and Overton Brooks VA Medical Center.
