Glenver Ann Hammons Rowland

Shreveport, LA - Glenver Ann Hammons Rowland was born on April 13, 1942 to Harrell R. and Winnifred (Peggy) Davis Hammons in Farmerville, Louisiana, who preceded her in death. She passed away on May 8, 2013. She is survived by her husband, Rev. Robert Gene Rowland, of almost fifty-one years, their daughter Elizabeth Ann and her husband, Joshua Steven Riddell, two sisters, Nola Herring, and Amye Bellott and her husband, James; a host of nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Glenver traveled the world with her husband and daughter. She had teaching certificates from two different schools of Ikebana Flower Arranging. Glenver was very active in all the chapels and churches her husband served while in ministry in the Navy and the local pastorate. They were serving Keithville United Methodist Church at the time of her passing.

Glenver had the most winning smile. Robert fell in love with it at first sight and asked her to marry him on the first date and she accepted on the second date. Glenver had a great sense of humor and always brought a shining light to any space she entered. She will surely be missed by all who knew her.

The Rev. J. Roddy Taylor will lead a Memorial Service to be held Tuesday, May 14 at two o'clock in the afternoon at Summer Grove United Methodist Church, 9119 Dean Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71118. Fellowship to follow.

Glenver chose to be cremated; in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Retired Ministers' Home Board of the United Methodist Church. Send to Rev. Bobby Potter, 1610 Regatta Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana 71119.
