Janice Onita Salley Chance
KEITHVILLE, LA - Funeral services for Janice Onita Salley Chance, 66, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, November 6, 2009 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Randy Johnson. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 2009 at the funeral home.
Janice was born January 26, 1943 and passed away November 2, 2009 after a lengthy illness. She was a lifelong resident of Shreveport and worked for over 40 years in the fields of finance and insurance.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Margaret Salley; W.M. "Dub" Chance, husband of 25 years; her beloved sister, Margaret Ann Bozeman; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, William "Mack" and Shirley Chance.
She is survived by her three children, son, Charles W. Chance, and wife, Vicki; daughters, Lisa R. Anderson, and husband, Phillip; Cheryl M. Smith, and husband, Billy; grandchildren, Josh and Jared Chance; Colton, Sydney, and Chance Anderson and Toni Anderson Thompson; Jonathan, Jade and Jana Kimberlin and Taylor McTire Smith; and two great grandchildren; her brother, Charles Robert Salley, and wife Sue; sister, Martha McWhiney; brother-in-law, Bobby Chance, and wife Nell; very special friend and brother-in-law for over 40 years, Sam Bozeman; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Sam Bozeman, Doug Chance, Don Hall, Bubba McWhiney, Michael Salley, and Jay Simons.
The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the staff of The Bradford Nursing Home, for their care for Janice over the past year.
