A Celebration of the Life
of John Kevin Carney
8/7/71 - 4/10/13
BOSSIER CITY, LA - Kevin passed away on April 10, 2013 after a brief illness. A private celebration of his life was held Friday April 12, 2013. Kevin loved God, family, friends and anything to do with being outside; he worked hard and played hard. He was a larger than life person, with a sunny disposition and never met a stranger. He always had a big ole smile, hand shake or pat on the back for you. He especially cherished the time spent cooking on the grill for family and friends. Come one, come all. There is a big hole where he once was, but his laughter lives on.
He was preceded in death by his father John A. Carney, Jr., grandparents, "Corky" and Betty Carney, Joe and Mae Wood. He is survived by his mom and step-dad Nancy and Jim Brown, brother Greg Carney, half sister Catherine Meserve, aunts Betty Flowers, Virginia Harrell, Patty Carney, Linda Page, uncle Ronnie Flowers, cousins Richard, Robert and Jason Flowers, a very special niece Caitlin Carney and his constant four-legged buddy Sadie.
The family wishes to thank the staff on 7th and 9th floors of LSU Hospital for their kindnesses and tireless efforts to make Kevin's last days as comfortable as possible. We would also like to offer a special thanks to Reverend Todd Foster of the Cowboy Church for helping all of us through this. Thank you to each and every one of you who helped make Kevin's last days pass more pleasantly. All of you are the Wind Beneath Our Wings.
