Joy Mae Thomas
KEITHVILLE, LA- A funeral service celebrating the life of Joy Mae Thomas, 91, will be held at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel, Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Beth Love Tu'uta, former pastor of Morningside United Methodist Church. Assisting will be Rev. Mark Bray, pastor of Summer Grove United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Forest Park St. Vincent Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2013 at the funeral home.
Joy entered into rest with our Lord, on Thursday, August 14, 2013 after a brief illness. She was born in a log cabin outside Aycock, LA, the youngest of nine children. She was a loving wife, and mother who attended Morningside Methodist Church with her husband, and loved camping with her extended family at her homestead in Aycock, LA and at Lake Greeson, AR.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Curtis L. Thomas; son, Ralph D. Thomas; daughter, Joyce L. McGann and husband, James; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Clark Gilbert and wife, Connie and son, Blaine, Alan Gilbert and wife, Petra and children, Kyle and Kimberly, Craig Thomas and wife, Jillian and daughter, Alexis, Angie Aldridge and husband, Jeff and daughters, Kallie and Kenzie, Jonathan Thomas, Holly Nash and husband, Regan and their daughter, Claire; numerous nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be Clark Gilbert, Alan Gilbert, Craig Thomas, Kyle Gilbert, Blaine Gilbert, Ragen Nash, Jeff Aldridge and Robbie Thomas.
