Lawrence C. Spohn MSGT USAF, Ret.

Bossier City, LA - Lawrence C. Spohn, at the age of 88, went to be with the Lord Saturday March 16, 2013. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:30 on Monday March 18, 2013 at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Bossier City. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 2:30. Officiating will be Father Pike Thomas assisted by Father Price. Interment will follow at Rose Neath Cemetery in Bossier City, La.

Larry was born September 6, 1924 in Byrn Mawr, Pa. He entered the Army Air Corps in 1943 and served as an Aerial Gunner and In-Flight Refueling Technician until retiring in 1964. He is a graduate of Centenary College and received his M Ed. from Northwestern State College. He was a teacher and Administrator with Caddo Parish School System until he retired in 1987. During retirement he spent many hours working with a local church food pantry serving the needy.

Waiting in Heaven for him is his granddaughter Kristen McKellar. Larry is survived by his wife Eleanor Rea Spohn; two daughters, Sandy and her husband Bill McKellar of Bossier City, La., Shelly and her husband Randy Slack of Fulshear, Tx., and by his son Craig and his wife Stacy Doyle Spohn of Benton, La. Survivors also include two sisters, Betty Siverston of Florida and Sue Spohn of San Diego, Ca.; three half-sisters, eight grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and a number of nieces and nephews.
