PRINCETON, LA - Services to honor the life of Leonard Lee Blalock, Sr., 80, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 6, 2013 at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home officiated by Pastor DeWayne Owens of McKinney, TX. Interment, with full military honors, will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening between the hours of 6-8p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Blalock was born on December 14, 1932, in Mentone, AL. and passed away Friday morning, May 3rd following a lengthy illness. Leonard retired at the rank of TSgt. from the U.S. Air Force in 1973 and was a member of the Air Force Sergeant's Association. He was also a member of Princeton Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge #457. Leonard loved NASCAR racing, vegetable gardening, Cowboy's football and riding his scooter to church. He also enjoyed puttering around the house and fixing things. One of Leonard's favorite things was cooking steaks on the grill and he was famous for it! Everyone who knew Leonard will miss him dearly.
Mr. Blalock was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Lily (Stoker) Blalock; step-son, Rick Chapman; granddaughter, Stephanie Malaspina; sister, Lorene; and brothers, R.C., John, and Jerrell. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 41 ½ years, Ramona (Price) Blalock; children, Leonard Lee Blalock, Jr., Dale Blalock, Teresa Malaspina and husband, Rusty, Charles Ray Blalock, and Lori Blair and husband, Larry; step-children, Kyle Chapman and wife, Christina, and Sydney Rollins and husband, Bobby; thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Honoring Mr. Blalock as pallbearers are Dale Blalock, Charles Blalock, Blake Chapman, Brandon Malaspina, Bobby Rollins, Rusty Malaspina, Larry Blair and Ricky Williams.
