Untitled Loretta Lavon Rogers Armand DEBERRY, TX- Loretta Lavon Rogers Armand, age 38, of DeBerry, TX died November 15, 2006 as the result of an automobile accident. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 17th at Osborn Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2006 at Osborn Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Cooper Cemetery at Pickering, LA.
Loretta was a native of Rosepine, LA and resident of DeBerry, TX for over 7 years. She was a dealer at Horseshoe Casino for 10 years before retiring due to disability.
Our Loretta had a spirit that can never be dimmed even in death. She loved her family above all and was a wonderful mother. Her boys were her life. Loretta loved life in the country and her farm. She always proclaimed it to anyone who would listen. She was the queen of taking in strays and it didn't matter if they had four legs or two, if you came in her path she would "fix" you with her love.
Loretta was a faithful member of DeBerry Baptist Church, the youth group there will never forget her. We will be lost without her, but she is home with Jesus, and will be in pain no more. Sleep in peace our wild angel we love you.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Lester and Hannah Broussard; and paternal grandparents, Cecil and Loretta Rogers. She is survived by her husband, Dale Strickland; two precious boys who she loved beyond life, James Edward Armand and Harvey Booth Moton; her parents, Henry and Lavon Rogers; five sisters and brothers-in-laws, Vertie and Johnny Benson, Rosa and Robby Calhoun, Blanche and Jason Akana, Brenda and Brian Gobert, Alexis and Chris Beard; two brothers, Henry Rogers, Jr. and wife, Ronda and Wesley Rogers.
Loretta also leaves behind twenty one nephews and nieces upon who she lavished love and time. They are Danny Lee, Emily, Brianne and Matthew Schnell, Jessica, Tori, Trey, Nikki, Parker and Elizabeth Rogers, Kay-Alana and Lairen Lea Calhoun, Luke and Caden Akana, Shelby, Sierra and Scarlet Gobert, Kristen, Emily, Amber and Samantha Beard; and her great niece, Cassandra Schnell.
