SHREVEPORT, LA- Funeral services for Louis Lynn Judd, 79, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 3, 2012 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel with Dr. Chad Hardbarger officiating. Interment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery in Gladewater, TX. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 2, 2012 at the funeral home.

Lynn was born at his grandmother's home in Whitesboro, TX to the union of Darcy and Gladys Judd on October 8, 1933, and died peacefully at Heritage Manor West on December 1, 2012 after a valiant fight against Alzheimer's.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Arline Judd; son, Louis Lynn Judd, Jr., and wife, Brenda of Denton, TX; daughter, Susan Whitaker and husband, Michael of Shreveport; grandchildren, Jessica Judd and Spencer Judd of Denton, TX, Sarah Adcock and husband, Brian of Benton, LA, and Melissa Whitaker of Shreveport; great-grandchild, Autumn; and sisters-in-law, Melba Green of Oxford, AL and Shirley Fox of Pittsburg, TX.

Lynn graduated from Sherman High School in Sherman, TX and completed his higher education, earning a PhD from North Texas University in Denton. His career in academia as Doctoral in Marketing took him to universities in Indiana, Missouri, Illinois, Louisiana, and retired from California State University. He was an accomplished educator having many of his works published in marketing journals. He held membership in the Lions Club, Jaycees; he was an Eagle Scout and avid reader. He was an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church until his illness prevented his attendance.

Honoring Lynn as pallbearers will be Carl Morgan, Jim Howard, Joe Strickland, Jackie Sayles, Glen Dumas, and Ron Denny.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Cypress Point, the Promise of Bossier City, Heritage Manor West, and Southern Care Hospice for their acts of kindness and care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, TWB Fund, 5850 Buncombe Rd, Shreveport, LA 71129.
