Marise Bounds Obituary
Marise Hunter Bounds

Mrs. Hollis Bounds

On April 20, 2013, Marise Bounds "MeMa" exchanged this life for eternity. She was just a few days shy of celebrating her 87th birthday. Marise was born and raised in the Hunter community near Stanley, LA. She was the first of 6 children born to loving parents, John Ashton Hunter and Addie Francis Smith Hunter. Marise married her soul mate, Raymond Hollis Bounds, in 1950, and they shared 30 wonderful years of marriage until his death in 1981. Their union was blessed with three children, Denise, Brian, and Darryl, who died as an infant when he was only eight days old.

Services celebrating her life will be held at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 21, 2013. Officiating will be Rev. John Harp. The family will receive visitors preceding the service at 2:30 p.m. Graveside services will be held in Stanley, LA, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. where she will be laid to rest by her beloved husband and son.

Marise was loyal to her Lord and Savior and served Him faithfully as a member of Ingleside Baptist Church and later Kingston Road Baptist Church. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, and MeMa who loved her family unconditionally. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought so much joy to her life and she so loved each one of them. Marise loved scenic travels through the local countryside and Arkansas seeing all of God's majestic creations. She loved the outdoors working in her home garden and flower beds. Marise never met a stranger and always had a sweet smile and laugh to share.

Even in the final months of her life, she never complained about pain or illness, but continued to face each day with remarkable grace and a smile. She touched many lives outside of her family. In her time of illness, she was blessed to receive exceptional care provided by her sitter, Margaret Barry, Dr. Kenneth Fitzgerald, Rehab wing of Heritage Manor South, 6West of Willis-Knighton Pierremont and the Grace Home. A family heartfelt thank you to all of you that touched our lives with your care, kindness, and love.

Preceded her in death were her husband, parents, infant son, brothers, Jack, Gerald, and Bobby Hunter, and her sister, Peggy Hunter Hay.

Forever remembering her love and cherishing her memories are daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Gary Coyle; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Cheryl Bounds; sister, Jean Bounds; brother-in-law, Dudley Hay; sisters-in-law, Kay Hunter, Reba Lee Hunter, and Mollie Bounds Faulkner; grandchildren, Shanna Guin, Shannon (Jim) Wise, Wes (Jenny) Coyle, Brandon (Nina) Robertson, Brandon (Karla) Bounds, and Brittany Bounds; great-grandchildren, Erica, Emilee, Libby, Sutter, Tatum, Ramsey, Charlotte, Grafton, Abby, J.C., Alyse, Sara, and Brent; special niece, Marsha Franklin, who was like another daughter; special nephew, Jason Hay, who was like another grandson; and many more special nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunts. She was the glue that held this family together.

Serving Marise as pallbearers will be Randy Bounds, Alan Bounds, Jerry Davis, Dudley Hay and Jason Hay.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to any ministry that relates to children, such as Children's Homes or St. Jude.
