Mildred C. Van Veckhoven

Shreveport, LA - Miss Mildred C. Van Veckhoven, 74, passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at 2:05 a.m. after a brief illness. A vigil service will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, in the Chapel of Osborn Funeral Home with visitation following until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Officiating will be Rev. Msgr. Earl V. Provenza, VF, of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Many, LA, with Father Joseph A. Martina, Jr. officiating.

Millie was born September 8, 1937 and was a lifelong resident of Shreveport. She was a member of The Altar Society of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, an Alumni of St. Vincent Academy and an officer of Catholic Daughters of Louisiana.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents, A. Matthew Van Veckhoven and Gladys Knippers Van Veckhoven; sisters, Eula Lee Van Veckhoven, Paula Newnan and Patricia Van Veckhoven. She is survived by four sisters, Martha Jo Boose, Susan Brand, Sylvia Deharte and Rebecca Matthews; one brother, Harvey Van Veckhoven; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Sneed, Thomas Boose, Donald Boose, Patrick Boose, Brad Wright, Hal Wright, Willard Sneed and Bill Boose.

Honorary pallbearer will be Ronald Boose.
