Myranda Becton Obituary
BOSSIER CITY, LA - Funeral services for Myranda Becton, 15, will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2010 at the Hill Crest Funeral Home Chapel, 601 Hwy 80, Haughton, LA; 71037 with Rev. Cecil Daniels officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 2, 2010 at the Hill Crest Funeral Home.
Myranda was born on July 29, 1994 to John and Mica Becton in Modesto, CA. She attended school at Airline High School in Bossier City, where she was on pep squad. Myranda loved taking pictures, music, cheerleading, reading, shopping and most of all hanging out with her friends. She made her mother so very proud.
Survivors include her mother, Mica Moses and step-father Philip Moses; her brother, Ryan Becton, two sisters, Sarah Moses and Ava Weaver, grandparents, Marvin and Nancy Garcie, aunt and uncle Shane and Brandi Garcie.
Honoring Myranda as pallbearers will be Marvin Garcie, Shane Garcie, Juddy Hamous, Ryan Becton, Brandon Abshure, Devin Garcie, John Becton, and Cain Hamous.
Gifts to help the Moses Family may be sent to Calvary United Pentecostal Church, 6811 Woolworth Road, Shreveport, LA 71129.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all the friends and family that have helped and comforted our family during this time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all the family. She was such a beautiful young lady so full of life. I am sure she had a heart of gold to go with it. My heart is so hurt for you, Nancy, her grandmother. I too am a grandmother and I cannot even imagine the pain you are going thru. And poor Mica. Mica -- I just found out this tragedy touched you so unfairly. I know that you understand that my words truly cannot express the deep, heartfelt sympathy we feel for you and your family at this tragic time.
I am deeply sorry for your loss -- and I did not realize that this Myranda is your daughter that I have heard so much about. I am sorry we did not get a chance to meet.
Please know that you all are in our prayers for peace of mind and God's healing touch to your broken hearts and lives.

I don't personally know Myranda, and the life she lived. I do know that right now there is a great need of prayers needed for you and your Family. The whole community is here, and waiting with arms wide open to embrace you and your loved ones. In the past few days we have heard of the many memories that she had shared with her peers. Her Peers said she had a smile that would light up a room, and a heart made of gold. That she was always funny, and yet so sweet. There is no way to take away the pain you are feeling for the loss of your beloved Myranda. All we can do is let you know we are thinking of you, praying for you, and our hearts are breaking for you. Nobody should have to bury their child. God be with you and help you through this pain and sorrow. I know that Myranda is in heaven with God at her side. I know that someday you will see her again. But I also know at this time your heart is breaking. I wish I could take the pain away. I really do. But I can't. All I can do is let you know we love you all and are praying for you. To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,

My heart goes out to the family and friends of the kids at this time. I did not know them but I have three teenagers of my own and I cant imagine anything like this happening to them. I pray that your community comes together to support each other the way our community (Stonewall) did several months ago in the tragic loss of a twelve year old boy. Myranda and I have been friends for a few years now, even though we have been distance in the past year i still cherish all the wonderful memories we have made. All the sleepovers, the silly pictures, painting my room and getting paint EVERYWHERE, and many more. Myranda was such a happy person. She always had a glow about her and lit up any room she was in. Myranda will always be in my heart. I love her dearly and she is missed. My heart goes out to the family and the rest of the lives Myranda has touched. God had a plan for her, just like he has plan for the rest of us.
