BOSSIER CITY, LA - A Celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel. Rev. Jerry Dean will be officiating the service and will be assisted by Rev. Shannon Stanley. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel.

Robert was a member of the Pentecostals of Bossier City for the past 25 years. He loved his church family and enjoyed attending all church functions. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Robert enlisted in the United States Army in 1943 and served in the WWII.

Robert loved many kinds of Christian music especially southern gospel. His favorite song was "Can't Nobody Do Me Like Jesus."

He is survived by his five children, Michael Dear, Kathy Ball, Sherry Gipson, Ricky Dear and Mary Alice. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Magee, Allen Goss, Harold Harville, Hurman Creel, Charles Goss and Dale Wray. Honorary pallbearers will be W.H. Dean and W.T. Scott.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of the NW Louisiana War Veterans Home, Overbrook Veterans Hospital and Dr. Desalu for their care and compassion.
