Roy Donald "Don" Odom

Homer, LA; Graveside funeral services will be held for Roy Donald "Don" Odom, 91, on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Colquitt Cemetery with Rev. R.B. Moore, Rev. Brian Thurman and Rev. Chris Thomas, officiating. A memorial service will follow at the First United Methodist Church in Homer at 2:00 p.m., all under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Homer.

Don was born Nov. 28, 1922 in Colquitt to Joel Holbert Odom and Mary Elizabeth Greer Odom. He entered into rest Monday, Dec. 23rd at Homer Memorial Hospital following a short illness. Don was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, a member of the First United Methodist Church and an avid fan of the LSU Tigers. Don retired as Captain/Supervisor from the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries on Aug. 31, 1984 with 25 years of service. He and his wife, Brenda later owned and operated Cajun Sunshine Tours for over 20 years.

Don is preceded in death by five sisters, Mildred Odom, Sybil Hollonbeck, Virginia Cline, Julia Odom and Bess Rowe; three brothers, Greer Odom, Julius Odom and Crawford Odom.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Brenda Greene Odom of Homer; one brother, Dr. William G. Odom and wife, Joyce of Carmel, CA; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Robb Odom, Neal Fudge, Bob Honeycutt, Tracy Jones, Dr. Eddie Sherman, Skipper Brown, James Edward Scriber, Sonny Barnett and Jackson Lowery.

Honorary pallbearers will be the "Brenda Bunch".
