Stewart Gerald Howard

Shreveport, LA - Stewart was born March 15, 1967 and passed away August 8, 2012. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Friday, August 10, 2012, at Osborn Funeral Home. Graveside services will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 11, 2012, at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Avenue, with Father James McLelland officiating.

Stewart graduated from Captain Shreve High School in 1985, attended Tyler Junior College and Louisiana State University - Shreveport. After graduation, he worked at CNA Insurance Company in Chicago. He later returned to Shreveport and worked for his father in the insurance business.

Stewart will always be remembered for his tremendous kindness, big heart and overwhelming generosity. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed many hours of hunting, fishing and spending time on the beach. His greatest joy in life, however, was spending time with his son, Jack.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Gerald Howard. He is survived by his son, Jack William Howard; mother, Kathryn L. Howard, of Shreveport; sister, Mary Kathryn Howard Elliott and her husband, James Peter Elliott, of Dallas; nieces, Lindsey Alexander and Kathryn Margaret Elliott; nephew, James McIntyre Elliott, all of Dallas; aunts and uncles Mrs. Weyman Oden, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Paul Jackson and Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Howard; numerous cousins; and the mother of his son, Lea Ellen Boykin.

Pallbearers will be Lee Berry, Frank Goldsberry, Frank Harris, IV, Charles Hawes, Christopher Jackson, Paul Jackson, Sinclair Kouns and John Womack. Honorary pallbearers will be James Elliott, Lacy Williams II, Kirk Cummings and Jimmy Casten.

Memorials may be made to St. John Berchmans Cathedral Organ Fund, 939 Jordan Street, Shreveport, LA; Alcoholics Anonymous, 2800 Youree Drive, Shreveport, LA; The Glen Retirement Center, 403 E. Flournoy Lucas Road, Shreveport, Louisiana; or to the charity of donor's choice.
