Ann and Kit:
I have just learned of Tim's death and was so saddened, as I continued to read his daily column - but rarely ever read the obituaries. I was reading Diane Haag's blog, when I read where she referred to his "collapse", and how it was just one more question without an answer relating to his death and those of the Virginia Tech tragedy.
I can't begin to imagine the grief you are experiencing and can only extend to you my deepest sympathy and prayers for your peace. Tim brought to so many an insight into life, that few if any other could. It taught many of us to laugh at ourselves - particularly when we took ourselves, or circumstances too seriously. I know his perceptions of life were culled out of the extraordinary love and examples he gained from each of you, his family. You will have so many memories to share that will bring you such joy and laughter; this may not be what you're feeling now, but it will be what comforts you into the future. Tim had a purpose; he shared it with us all and we will all be better people for having "read" him. For some, having known him beyond the pages of his column, will be the source they can draw from each day, as Tim would have pre "scribed" it.
With my sincerest appreciation for who Tim Greening is, I applaud his life and how he lived it. May God bless each of you to know, "a merry heart doeth good like a medicine..." and Tim filled that Rx for thousands, who will remember him, thankfully.
In Him, Terri Brock

I always enjoyed Tim's brand of humor. He was a joy to know and to read his columns. I got to know Tim when he followed my reign as King X of Highland (I was King IX). He threw rubber chickens for throws. Tim was a great Highlander, living on Dillard Street and writing about The Girl and that toilet on the front porch and the static cling tissues all over the floor and the 15 minute notice (if you are lucky) that real estate agents give you before they show your house. There is a special place in Heaven for funny, real people like Tim. When I read in the Times about Tim's death I had to read the article twice because I thought it was another one of Tim's great pranks -- ala Huckleberry Finn. I was very saddened and shocked when I realized the article was real. My prayers are with Tim and his family and friends.

I graduated high school with Tim and he was always a good friend. You knew my dad he also worked at 8th Air Force. I seen Tim at the reunion and he looked good. I am sorry for your loss and he will be missed. If you need anything just let me know.
