Yvonne Bangsberg Andrews

BOSSIER CITY, LA - Yvonne Bangsberg Andrews, age 76, died July 1, 2013. She was born September 23, 1936 the youngest of three children to Earl Bangsberg and Adella Stoetekluh Bangsberg in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. She graduated from nursing school, at the University of Wisconsin in Madison as an LPN. After meeting the young Airman, James Andrews, at a USO dance they married in West Salem, Wisconsin on, April 2, 1960. The United States Air Force moved them to Air Force Bases in Wisconsin, New York, New Jersey, the Philippines, Maryland, New Mexico, Spain and then to Bossier City where Jim retired. Yvonne worked as a nurse at Schumpert Medical Center until her retirement in 2002. She loved her family, playing golf, traveling, scrap booking, doing puzzles, reading and spoiling her grandkids. She was a Life Member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the Barksdale AFB Ladies Golf Auxiliary and a Bunco Babe.

Yvonne's parents preceded her in death. Yvonne is survived by her husband of 53 years, James Andrews of Bossier City, LA; and their children Tanya Andrews Clark and husband Chuck of Shreveport, LA, Michelle Andrews Blake and husband Bob of Bossier City, LA, Pamela Andrews Dejnak of Shreveport, LA and Scott Andrews and wife Kaisu Porkka Andrews of Bossier City, LA; sister, Sylvia Uber of West Salem, WI; brother, Kenneth Bangsberg of Bossier City, LA and grandchildren, Rebecca Hutton, Morgan Dejnak, Nicholas Dejnak, Camryn Dejnak and Eva Andrews.

Services for Yvonne will be at 3 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Aaron Fenker, associate pastor of the church officiating. Visitation will at the church Friday from 2 p.m. till 3 p.m., the service will follow at 3 p.m. A private interment will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2013 at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA.

She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. The family would like to thank Dr. David Green, Dr. Paul Wilson and the caring staff of Willis-Knighton.
