Danny and Mrs. Barbara, it was my great fortune to meet Mr. Richard at the deer lease so many years ago. I will miss hearing "Buddy Boy" that he always called me, and his cheer and humor. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. May god bless you and bring you comfort

I'm so sorry for your loss! Mr. Houghton was a wonderful man and a friend to so many. He was so good to my son Jeremy Bourque. May God hold you and comfort you in this time of loss. God Bless you all!

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to James Richard Haughton our “Brother-in-Arms”. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Richard. And to Richard it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during the Korean War while serving with the SeaBees in the U.S. Navy. Richard, we bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 1,341 members of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Richard’s family and loved ones.
