Jason Lammons

SHREVEPORT, LA - Services for Jason Lammons will be held February 25, 2012, at 10 a.m. (graveside) at Hill Crest in Haughton with military honors. Dr. Randy Harper - Bellaire Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends at Hill Crest from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2012.

Jason was born June 27, 1973, in Shreveport, LA. and went home to be with His Lord and Savior, February 19, 2012, due to complications of surgery.

Jason served in the U.S. Army/Communications in Germany and had the opportunity to travel through Europe extensively. Jason was completing his masters in Broadcast Journalism at LSUS. Jason graduated from Parkway High School.

Jason was a musician, published poet, band promter, D.J., and photographer. To describe Jason would take a whole page. He took life "by the horns," lived outloud, loved hard, and touched many lives with his talent, wit, charm, humor, and intellect.

He is preceded in death (of the body to live eternally in Spirit with God) by his brother, Daniel Lammons; grandfather, Maj./Ret. Charles Dungan; grandmother, Evelyn Lammons.

He is survived by his mother, Jody Lammons; his father, Ronnie Lammons; grandmother, Helen Dungan; uncles, Billy and Bub; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins; and Misty, his girlfriend.

To all of Jason's friends and fellow musicians. Thank you for the love and creativity you brought to Jason's life. Please come and bring your acoustic to the graveside service on Saturday, February 25, 2012.

Most heartfelt thanks to Barbara Pendleton, Teresa Liner, Diana Goodwin, Tonya Stanley, Julie Grenella, Christina Dungan, Joyce Shoebridge, Maria Perez, Ladies of Bellaire Church and Single's Department. Special thanks to Terri Casciola, Casey Fuller, and everyone who has helped and prayed for us.

ON WHAT WOULD HAVE BEEN HIS 46TH BIRTHDAY , I WAS REMEMBERING MY HEAVY METAL KID AND WANT TO THANK ALL WHO WROTE SUCH KIND WORDS ABOUT HIM IN THIS REMEMBRANCE . MY BEST NEW YEARS EVER WAS THE ONE HE AND I SPENT TOGETHER PLAYING ACOUSTIC GUITARS . WE GOT INTO SUCH AN INCREDIBLE JAM THAT WE WERE BOTH IN AWE AND WISH IT HAD BEEN RECORDED . I APPRECIATE YOUR LOVE FOR JASON AND KNOW THAT YOU STILL THINK OF HIM AS IF THIS OBITUARY WERE WRITTEN YESTERDAY .

I love you with all of my heart,I know you knew this. You brought so much happiness in my life. I miss your beautiful smile, your girly long eyelashes, your strong voice, your most awesome bear hugs and sweet kisses. You meant the world to me, and will always remain a part of me. I know you are now my guardian angel in Heaven above. I can't wait until the day I am back in your loving arms. I love you so very much Jason Patrick Lammons! Love,

My dearest Jason...You brought me flowers... you took me on a "date" to the movies... you always sent me the most beautiful cards... I was in awe of your many talents... your words... ability to express..No doubt, you were actually too awesome for this petty world.. I know you are with God... and Daniel.. You and Daniel are with me always.. You were the "brightest candle". I love you. Mom

Seeing the core of our circle at his service was completely sobering, yet surreal. Eyes that hadn't laid gaze upon each other in over a decade. If we take anything from this, it should be this; Jason brought our circle back together, and it would be a mistake to let it break again... As brief as this visit was for me, it was great to see Casey, Jayson, and Kenneth again. Thank you Jason, wish you were here.

Jason,
You were like a brother, family, a friend, someone who was incredibly intelligent, talented & full of life,& I am happy to know that right before your passing, that you had begun to find the peace & happiness you searched & reached for. You will be forever missed & remembered by every single person you crossed paths with. I love you Jason & am grateful for you in my life since we were little.

To Jody & Ronnie, no parents should ever have to lose one child, and especially not both. You both are in my thoughts and prayers and will remain so. And I know Jason loved you both very much & if he had the chance now, he would tell you both so.

To Jason's grandparents & many aunts, uncles and cousins, Jason loved you all so much & know if he were still here he would tell you how much.

To Jason's Misty, I know he loved you , please take comfort in that knowledge and hold him in your heart.

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Jason Lammons our “Brother-in-Arms”. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Jason. And to Jason it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country while serving in the U.S. Army. Jason, you are a true patriot, who served with honor and distinction. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the 1,307 military veteran Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Jason's family and loved ones.
