Roger "Barney" Barnebey

HAUGHTON, LA - Services for Roger "Barney" Barnebey will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2013 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Mr. Thomas Welch and Mr. Norman Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, March 3, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Barney was born on October 25, 1928 in Mullen, Nebraska. He joined the Air Force and served during the Korean War. He was a former Deacon and member of Eastwood Church of Christ and the Lions Club. He liked reading and playing cards and was an avid sports fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Dianne Council. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Marteil Barnebey, sons Johnny Barnebey and wife Sherri Marcantel and Cecil "Buddy" Rice and wife Roxanne, daughters Tammy Barnebey McClaran and fiancé John Nelson and Brenda Bickham and husband "Sunny" Bickham, son in law Mickey Council, grandchildren Holly Wright, Dustin and Cody Long, Heather Roberson, Scott O'Glee, Gregg and Breck Bickham, Tony Rice, John and Makayla Barnebey, Kory, Kaytlin, Kameron and Kelsie Mercantel, James Fant and Billy and Robin Council.

Pallbearers will be Cody Long, Dustin Long, Scott O'Glee, James Fant, Jeff Roberson, Gregg Bickham, Breck Bickham, and J.J. Barnebey
