SHREVEPORT, LA - Pearl Gullo, 80, went to be with our Heavenly Father on January 29, 2014. Services celebrating the life of Pearl will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 3, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shreveport, LA. Officiating the service will be Monsignor Charles Glorioso. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Ave., Shreveport, LA. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Funeral Home, Shreveport, LA. Rosary following at 3:00 p.m., with Father Joseph Howard officiating.

Pearl was a loving wife and mother who lived life to the fullest, helping many along the way. She was a graduate of Marthaville High School. After graduation, she moved to Shreveport and went to work for Delta Airlines. She met her husband Johnny, at the First National Bank where he worked, they married and had five children, and also along with their brother-in-law, Joe Cush built and operated Towne South Food Mart. Pearl said she must have been a good cook because the customers kept coming back for more. Later in her senior years she moved to Azalea Estates where she made many new friends that she considered family too.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Eardis Freeman and Clara Buckalew; husband, John Phillip Gullo; son, and Giovanni Gullo.

Pearl is survived by her sons: Richard D. Gullo, of San Francisco, CA, Michael A. Gullo and wife, Angela, of Bossier City, LA; daughters, Gina Jester and husband, Bruce, of Bossier City, LA, Tonya Begley, and husband, Tony, of Pass Christian, MS; Sister, Lela Freeman, of Elm Grove, LA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. Joe and Mrs. Ann Cush of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren, John Michael Gullo, and wife, Kelly of Haughton, LA, Phillip Gullo, and wife, Tammy of Shreveport, LA, Catherine Patterson Davis, and husband, Mike of Shreveport, LA, Ashley Patterson, and fiancée, Brock Hamilton of Shreveport, LA; great-grandchildren, Shelby Grace and Grant Michael Gullo, Rylee Ann Gullo, Lily Alise Taylor, and Angel Selene Davis.

Honoring Pearl as pallbearers will be Tony Begley, Mike Davis, John Michael Gullo, Phillip Gullo, and Bruce Jester.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials may be made to St. Jude Cancer Research Center, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
