David Clarence "D.C." Hall
SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services celebrating the life of David Clarence "D.C." Hall, 78 will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Rose-Neath Marshall St. Chapel in Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Randy Riley, Rev. Durell Tuberville, will recall D.C.'s 32 years on the Shreveport Fire Department and Rev. Tom Brown will recall D.C.'s 50+ years as a Freemason. Visitation for D.C. will be Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Rose-Neath Marshall St. from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A visitation with family will begin at 12:00 p.m. Thursday February 13, 2014 prior to the service. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Haughton, LA with Masonic Rites.
D.C. was born July 2, 1935 in Scotland, Arkansas and went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 8, 2014 after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease and Cancer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Elizabeth Hall; father, David Crayton Hall; sister, VeNora Hall and brother, Glyn Darrel Hall. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 53 years, Catherine Buford Hall; sons Mark and wife, Vicki of Muskogee, OK; John and Cathy and their daughters Ashlee and Kelsee; sister-in-law Patricia Hall; nephew Glyn Hall; niece Stacie Cowden and great-niece Courtney Cowden, all of Caddo Parish, brothers in law, Carrol Buford and wife Dolores of Lompoc, California and Thomas Buford of Ft. Collins Colorado.
D.C. moved to Shreveport when his sister was admitted to Shriner's Hospital for Children with polio. He began employment with the Shreveport Fire Department on March 1, 1956 and retired as District Chief on March 1, 1988. He was a member and Past Master of Blanchard Lodge F&AM #447. He was a long time member of Northwood Baptist Church.
Honoring D.C. as pallbearers will be Bobby Christ, Dan Cotton, Mike Echols, Kip Mourad, Randy Terrell and Lester Williams. Rev. Billy Crosby will honor us as soloist with "Beulah Land".
Our sincere "thank you" to caregivers Dianne Allborty and Christi Hughes for 3 years of faithfulness; Dr. Robert Massengill; our Angels at Christus Hospice, nurse Robin Watkins, aide Debbie Purvis and Chaplin Keith Adcock; our caring neighbor Harold Golden and the wonderful "guys' at Caddo Fire District One Central Station.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 3100 Samford Ave., Shreveport, LA 71103.
