Mrs. Barbara June Maxcy "Mimi"

SHREVEPORT, LA - The celebration of life for June "Mimi" Maxcy, 81, will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, March 28, 2014 at Rose Neath South Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Burnley officiating. Preceding the service will be the visitation with family and friends from 10:00am to 12:00pm. Graveside services will follow at Forest Park Cemetery on St. Vincent Ave.

Mrs. Maxcy passed away after a brief and very courageous battle with cancer on March 24, 2014. She was born in Kildare, TX on March 8, 1933 and resided in Shreveport with her husband Gordon most of her life. She was a member of the NEO Fabrics family for 47 years and worked until the day before she entered the hospital.

Whether you knew her as June, Mimi, Aunt June or Mrs. Maxcy - you knew what a special and amazing woman she was. Her family was the most important thing in her life. She shared her unconditional love and support with everyone she met. She showed the true definition of class, integrity, honesty and unconditional love. To know her, was to love her. She was born to shop til you drop, Dillards was her second home! She loved spending time with her family, working in her yard, fishing, spending time on Facebook and just had an overall zest for life. She went home to be with Jesus on her terms and said she would have the last word as to when that would be. This describes Mimi to a T! She wanted laughter and for everyone to just love one another after her passing.

Mrs. Maxcy was preceded in death by her parents Carrie and George Brasher, husband Gordon Maxcy, Sisters, Reba Jones, Leatrice Burnley, Jean Delacerda, Jeanette Lollar, Brothers, Kent Brasher, J.L. Brasher and Robert Brasher. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Maxcy Dunham, Grandsons, Gordon Shane Maxcy and Cody Dunham and one very special great-granddaughter Annalisa Dunham, numerous and very special to her nieces, nephews and very large extended family and friends.

Serving as Pallbearers: Cody Dunham, Tommy Stahl, David Harrell, Bobby Lloyd, Richard Moore and Forrest Jones. Honorary Pallbearers: Buddy McQuagge and Tommy Biggs.
