Leo Cowley Hughen

Arcadia-A memorial service honoring the life of Mrs. Leo Cowley Hughen will be held, at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at First United Methodist Church in Arcadia. Rev. Bill Moon will officiate. Burial will precede memorial service at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Arcadia Cemetery.

Mrs. Hughen was born September 2, 1917, in Mansfield, LA, to Louis and Hattie Dean Cowley. She entered into rest on April 7, 2014, in Homer, LA. She attended Louisiana State Normal School, now Northwestern State University in Natchitoches where she was a Purple Jacket, and a member of Who's Who in American Colleges. She was extremely active in the Scouts, and her church, First Methodist Church of Arcadia, and Broadmoor Methodist Church in Shreveport.

She is preceded in death by her husband Paul L. Hughen, daughter Lee H. Perot, sisters Olive Dean Cowley Barber and Claribel Cowley and by brothers Leslie Cowley and Louis Albert Cowley.

She is survived by her son, Dean Hughen and wife Renee of Little Rock, AR, sister Jane Robichaux of Austin, TX, niece Martha Ryan of Reston, VA, grandchildren Kristen De LaRosa (son Dylan), Denise Elquist and husband Chris (son Michael and daughter Emilie), Justin Hughen and wife Lair (Daughter Andie Jane and son Wil) and Drew Hughen and wife Amy (daughter Emery and son Andrew).

Memorials may be made in her honor to First United Methodist Church in Arcadia, 2122 Myrtle St, Arcadia, LA 71001.
