Richard Marshall Cross

SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for Richard Marshall Cross, 68, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday April 19, 2014 at Rose-Neath Chapel on Marshall St. Interment will follow at Forest Park East on St. Vincent Ave. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday April 18, 2014 at Rose-Neath Chapel Marshall St.

Richard was born in Boston, MA to Richard M. Cross and Mary Suozzo Cross on April 30, 1945 and passed away on April14, 2014 in Shreveport, LA. He is preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 30 years, Mary Rowe Cross; son, Richard Cross; daughter, Dani Cross; sister, Christine C. D'Amore and her husband, Bob; aunt Jessie Suozzo and special friend, Shirley Samson; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Richard graduated from Revere High School in Revere, Massachusetts. He attended Harvard University and then entered the US Army and served his country with honor. He was a Vietnam Veteran. After several career changes Richard worked in the oil and gas industry until 1986 when he and his wife, Mary, moved to Shreveport. In Shreveport, Richard worked for Konica-Minolta and U-Haul Company from which he retired in 2011.

Richard had a wonderful love of life, sense of humor, generosity and friendship. He was dedicated to his family and friends with whom he shared his contagious passion for love and fun.

Honoring Richard as pallbearers will be Kenneth Baker, Norman Baker, Todd Baker, William Baker, Joe Demascal and Forest Jones.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations in honor of Richard be made to the ASPCA, St Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the charity of donor's choice.
