Shreveport, LA - Mrs. Ruth Watson Taylor, 88, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 21st, at Osborn Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 noon, on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Broadmoor Baptist Church - Memorial Chapel with Dr. Larry V. Williams, Associate Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Ave.

Mrs. Taylor was born on May 1, 1925, in Delhi, LA, to Pauline Hudgins and James C. Watson, Sr. She was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church. Ruth received an associate degree from Northeast State University (ULM) in Monroe, LA, where she met her husband, Leroy W. Taylor. She retired after 26 years from Beall-Ladymon as a legal clerk in the credit division. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; one sister; and beloved husband of 68 years, Leroy W. Taylor. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Taylor Goins and husband, Gerald; son, Bill Taylor and wife, Kitty; granddaughter, Jennifer Taylor Wilder and husband, Jonathan; grandson, Barry Taylor and wife, Stephanie; great-granddaughter, Anna Claire Taylor; step great-grandsons, J. J. Wilder and Mason Wilder; brother, John H. Watson and wife, Lee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Barry Taylor, Jonathan Wilder, Mike Middleton, Michael Kimbrough, Butch Santoro and Mike Thornton.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Building Fund at Broadmoor Baptist Church.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Larry V. Williams and the Broadmoor Baptist Prayer Ministry for their visits and prayers; the LifeCare nursing staff at Willis-Knighton Pierremont; and Dr. Manapragada and Dr. Schuler.
