Robert Earl "Bob" House

SHREVEPORT, LA - A memorial service honoring and celebrating the life of Robert "Bob" House, 83, will be held at 12:00 noon on May 6, 2014 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Cemetery with military honors presented by the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Officiating will be Brother "Step" Martin, Earnie Fegley and Dr. Tim Johnson.

Bob was born July 10, 1930 in Aberdeen, Mississippi to Arthur Palmer and Laura West House. He passed away May 2, 2014 in Shreveport, LA. He proudly served his country in the U.S Air Force during the Korean Conflict and afterwards served 15 years in the Louisiana Army National Guard. Bob worked for South Central Bell, retiring after 28 years, and was a member of The Telephone Pioneers. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Pastor's Sunday School Class serving as a group leader.

Bob was a member of the Blue Lodge Fair Park Scottish Rites and El Karubah Shriners. He also built the best bird houses and made sure they were beautiful. He was an avid Saints and LSU fan. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, helping those in need and lived his life for Jesus. Bob loved his family and spending time with his wife, precious daughter and son-in-law and all his grand and great grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Arthur House; sisters, Pearl Blunt, Lillian Becker, Elizabeth House, Martha Hall and Annie Whitlock.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 precious years, Bobbie Bartlett House; his daughter, Sharon Shaver and husband, Larry; grandchildren, Robert Edwards and wife, Bonnie, Trinity Edwards and wife, Bridget, Bridget Cassell and husband, James, Alexia Smith and husband Shannon, ten great-grandchildren and many extended family members.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Blunt, Randy Bartlett, Joe Scruggs, Dennis Griffin, Robert Edwards and Trinity Edwards. Honorary pallbearers will be Leroy Terry, Larry Shaver and his great-grandsons.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Willis Knighton North for their special care.
