Rose Papa Ebarb

Shreveport, LA - Mrs. Rose Papa Ebarb, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2014. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 4th, at Osborn Funeral Home, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will held at 1:00 p.m. at The Cathedral of St. John Berchmans, on Monday, May 5th. Father Charles Glorioso, her great nephew, will be celebrating the Mass. Interment will follow at Centuries Memorial Cemetery.

Rose worked for many years as a bookkeeper and completed her career as a registrar for Caddo Parish Schools in 2007. Her greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed all types of dancing and music. Her hobbies were gardening and playing bridge. She also enjoyed traveling and socializing with the NOMA Club girls. Rose loved to cook and entertain, and was famous for her spaghetti and meatballs. She was fondly named G-Mo, by her grandson Christopher, a name that has carried through to her great-grandchildren.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband Alvin H. Ebarb; brothers Bennie Papa and Francis Spano; sisters Constance Taglavore, Constance Maggio and Jenny Treadaway.

She is survived by her two daughters, Susan Burk and Pam Poché and husband Dr. Randall Poché; son Wayne Ebarb; nine grandchildren, Lt Cdr Michael Burk and wife Dr. Becky Lee Burk, Lindsey Wallace and husband Cameron Wallace, Jennifer Burk, SSgt Christopher Poché, Sgt Jeremy Poché and fiancé Jeanne Coleman, Jonathan Poché, Luke Poché, Rebecca Ebarb and Rachel Ebarb; four great-grandchildren, Ezra Burk, Libby Rose Burk, Cooper Wallace, and Hudson Wallace; two sisters, Josephine Giglio, and Lucille Titone and husband Joseph Titone; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Frankie Spano, Vincent Giglio, Jr., Christopher Poché, Jeremy Poché, Jonathan Poché, and Michael Burk.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cameron Wallace and Joseph Giglio.
