Pinckard Beasley

Shreveport, LA Mary Cecile Pinckard Beasley, 97, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014. She was born in Summerfield, LA on September 10, 1916 to the late Willie Wasson and James Perry Pinckard. She was a member of Trinity Heights Baptist Church, The Orchid Society and the North Highlands Women's Club. Throughout her life she enjoyed cooking and sewing for her loved ones. Cecile worked as a florist for more than 20 years. She was a loving kind person and was devoted to her family, friends and church.

Cecile is preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Vernon Frank Beasley, a son, Vernon Beasley; an infant daughter; grandson, Bryan Frank Beasley; brother, James Ealem Pinckard; a sister, Rachel Taylor and two nieces, Nedra Taylor and Sue Crawley. Surviving Cecile is her sons, James Frank Beasley and wife Rhodi, and David Michael Beasley and wife Anne; her daughter in law, Beth Ann; grandchildren, Donald, Brenda, Barry, Helen Ruth, Paul, Michael, Jeffrey, Catherine, David, Travis, and Meghan; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; nieces, Ann Edwards and Beth Hensley; nephew, Butch; many cousins; and her special neighbors on Lee Street.

A funeral service will be conducted at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, May 19, 2014 at 2:00 PM. Officiating will be Rev. Randy Riley. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery, Shreveport, LA. Visitation with the family will be 1:00 PM until service time.

Pallbearers are her grandsons, Donald, Barry, Paul, Michael, Jeffrey, David and Travis Beasley. Honorary pallbearers are Gene Riner, Wally Saldivar, Audie Edwards, and John Cole.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Trinity Heights Baptist Church or the .
