Willie "Billie" Collum Obituary
Willie "Billie" Collum

Greenwood-Billie Collum went to be with her Lord on Friday May 17, 2014. She was born in Panola, TX on March 22, 1917 making her 97 years old. She was raised on a cotton farm and often told stories of when she was a child picking cotton all day, day after day. She moved to Shreveport after graduating high school in 1936 and began working for Shreveport Transit, where she met her husband, Charles Collum. She married Charles in 1950 and their son was born one year and one month later in 1951. She later retired from Commercial National Bank in 1982 after 12 years in the Trust Department. Charles passed away in 1988 after 36 years of marriage.

Billie was a real "lady" in every sense of the word. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to everyone she met. She moved to Greenwood in 1977 and began a loving relationship with all her neighbors. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Greenwood for almost 40 years.

Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A.; grandson, West Santignan; and all of her brothers and sisters, as she is the last of her generation. She is survived by son, Gary W. Collum and wife, Karen of Greenwood; grandchildren, Jason Collum and wife Christy of Fort Worth and Joshua Collum and his wife Amy of Greenwood; great- grandchildren, Savana Leon, Sydnie and Jacob Ezell; many loving nephews, nieces, other family members, and friends.

Services will be at the Boone Funeral Home in Shreveport, LA 3903 Meriwether Rd. Visitation will begin at 10 am Thursday and service starts at 12:00 noon. She will be buried at Providence Cemetery in Providence LA.
