Jacob Frank Williamson, Jr.

Shreveport, LA - Jacob Frank Williamson, Jr., 93, passed away peacefully on July 6 under hospice care at Village Health Care at The Glen. Frank was born November 27, 1920, in Keithville, Louisiana to the late Jacob Frank Williamson Sr. and Sudie Victoria Flores. A Stonewall High School graduate, Frank then attended Louisiana Polytechnic Institute before serving in the US Army during WWII. Frank met, courted, and subsequently married the love of his life Olaine McFarland on June 7, 1941, and they lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania during his military service. They returned to Shreveport in 1945, where Frank began his career as co-owner and manager of Traffic Signals, Inc. In 1972, he founded Traffic Engineering and Equipment Company (TEECO SAFETY). Frank retired in 2000, and the company continues to be owned and operated by his son, Dennis.

Mr. Williamson was preceded in death by his wife, Olaine and his brother, Jack Wynn Williamson. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Ann Hatcher; sons, J. Frank Williamson III, and wife, Marilyn, and Thomas Dennis Williamson and wife, Judy; granddaughters, Rebecca Laine Bolda and husband, Gary, Robin Glasgo and husband, Daryn, and Emily Burke and husband, James; and six great grandchildren, Jacob Paul Bolda, Nora Riley and Henry Eugene Glasgo, Rowan Daniel, Dylan James, and Graham Thomas Burke.

Frank has been a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather to all of his family. Many of his favorite times were spent fishing and entertaining friends and family at their lake home on Toledo Bend. He will always be remembered for his willingness to help others when asked, be it family, friends, or business associates. Frank was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church. He will be deeply missed.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014, at Osborn Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent Ave. Officiating will be Rev. Frank Gunn, of Broadmoor Baptist Church.

The family would like to express our appreciation to the staff, nurses and aides of the Magnolia household at The Glen for their loving care and dedication.

In lieu in flowers, contributions may be made to The Glen Retirement System, 403 E. Flournoy-Lucas Road, Shreveport, LA 71115.
