Lucille M. Sims

Lucille M. Sims, 100, passed away on July 21, 2014 in Tyler, Texas where she had resided for a brief time. Prior to moving to Tyler, she was a resident of Shreveport for over 70 years. She was born on June 3, 1914 in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin to Clarence and Anna Bashaw. Mrs. Sims was a charter member of Westview Christian Church where she faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher and worked in the nursery for many years.

Mrs. Sims was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Edward (S. E.) Sims. She is survived by her son, Stanley (wife Patty) Sims, daughter, Betty Rose (husband Frank Gillespie), daughter, Sharon Sims, and son James Y. "Jimmy" Sims. Mrs. Sims also leaves behind six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, her beloved nieces and nephews and a host of close friends.

Visitation will be at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road on Saturday, July 26, 2014 from 12 pm-2 pm, followed by the service at 2 pm led by Pastor J. Gary Boswell. The pallbearers are Chris Rose, Gary Rose, John Sims, Robert Sims, Shawn Bradley, and Brant Rose.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in memory of Lucille Sims be made to the at or Westview Christian Church, Shreveport, Louisiana.
