Arcadia, LA - Services for Elizabeth Lorraine Philyaw Brewer, 97, will be held on Saturda

July 26, 2014, at Rose-Neath's Arcadia Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Dr. Bill Brewer and Rev. Jeff Hoffman will officiate. Interment will follow in the Arcadia Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, July 25, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:p.m. and Saturday, July 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Lorraine was born on Monday, June 18, 1917, in Emad, Louisiana, to John R. and Kittie S. Philyaw. She went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 21, 2014. She grew up in Waskom, Texas, was graduated from Waskom High School, and attended Centenary College. She married Clinton Wilson Brewer on Friday, December 19, 1941, in Waskom. They were married for sixty-five years; he predeceased her in 2007. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Helen Raley and husband Lucky of Arcadia, Kitty Smith and husband J.D. of Benton; four sons, Dr. John Brewer and wife Lucy of Shreveport, Dr. Bill Brewer and wife Carol of Richardson, TX, Mark Brewer and wife Sue of White Bear Lake, MN, Kensill Brewer and wife Kathy of Calhoun; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; one niece, and one nephew.

Lorraine devoted her life to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and we will all miss her. She was a committed follower of Jesus Christ, whom she met face-to-face this past Monday.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons Ted Raley, Kelly Brewer, Clinton Raley, ClintonWilson Brewer II, Luke Brewer, Jack Brewer, and Will Brewer, and her great grandson Joshua Raley.
