Estelle Coleman McDonald

Springhill, La- Funeral services for Mrs. Estelle Coleman McDonald, age 90, will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 2, 2014, at the Springhill United Pentecostal Church, Springhill, LA, with Rev. Lyn Story and Rev. Rick McDonald, officiating. Interment will follow in Welcome Cemetery, under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 1, 2014, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Bailey's in Springhill.

Mrs. McDonald was born on May 21, 1924 to William and Stella King Coleman and passed away on Thursday, July 31, 2014 in Shreveport. She was a wonderful Christian lady and set this example for her family. She loved them beyond measure and lived for them daily. Mrs. McDonald was a lifelong resident of the area and a faithful member of Springhill United Pentecostal Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by two daughters, Glenda Whiseant and husband Paul, of Taylor, AR, and Monica Wyatt and husband Thomas of Bossier City, LA; son, James McDonald and wife Karen of Stonewall, LA; three grandchildren, Matthew Whiseant, Brittany McDonald, Elizabeth Wyatt; great granddaughter, Brooklynn McDonald; three sisters, Louise Bandy of Plain Dealing, LA, Josephine Coile of Springhill, LA, and Pauline Brazzell of Lubbock, TX; two brothers, Alvin Coleman and wife Kay of Jacksonville, TX, and Marion Coleman and wife Delilah of Ft. Worth, TX.

Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert McDonald on Sept. 15, 2005; her parents, two sisters, Myrtis Barnes and Alice Powell; and two brothers, Ray Coleman and Purnell Coleman.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Whiseant, Paul Whiseant, Thomas Wyatt, Ed Bobbitt, James Bobbitt and Troy Bobbitt.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Lee, Tony McDonald, Dan McIntyre, and Jeff Benson.
