Herbert Browning Obituary
SAREPTA, LA - Herbert V. Browning, 77 of Sarepta, Louisiana died Saturday, February 5, 2011 at the Summit Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor, Arkansas. He was born January 11, 1934 in Vivian, Louisiana to the late Harry Mahlon and Eura Lillian (White) Browning and was also preceded in death by his wife, Daphne (Allen) Browning.
Herbert was a member of the Cotton Valley Masonic Lodge # 335 where he was a Master Mason and Past Master of Lodge; a member of the Royal Arch of the Eastern Star; a member of the El-Karubah Shrine; and a member of the Double 6 Domino Club.
Survivors are his sisters, Jimmie K. Maynor and husband Robert of Sarepta, Louisiana, Sandra Hoots of San Antonio, Texas and Doris Evelyn Cole of Ben Wheeler, Texas; brother, William Eugene Guest and wife Lorene of Sherman, Texas; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Lewis Chapel with Bro. Todd Pickard officiating. Burial will follow at the Old Sarepta Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Springhill. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be his nephews and great nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, www.shrinershq.org/hospitals or to charity of donor's choice.

Pete was a good friend and a fellow Vivian native. We met just several years ago but had many of the same friends and acquaintances. He was special to me and I've missed him the past couple of months. May your faith, love and memories comfort all of you.
