SHREVEPORT, LA - Graveside services celebrating the life of Melva Langford, 83, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 7, 2011 in Centuries Memorial Park, Shreveport, LA. Officiating the services will be Bro. Eddie Dehondt of Rose Park Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 7, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, Shreveport, LA.
Melva was born on April 21, 1927 in Shreveport, LA to Gordon and Mary Vascocu. She loved the Lord with all her heart and was a member of Trinity Heights Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA. She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Langford was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Herman H. Langford, one grandson, Michael David Langford and one sister, Evelyn Losey.
Left to cherish beautiful memories of Melva are her children, Gordon Langford and wife Mary of DeRidder, LA, Ronnie Langford of Kalispell, MT, David Langford and wife Debbie of Keithville, LA and Annette Langford of Shreveport, LA; two sisters, Alta Franks of Shreveport, LA and Ophelia Caskie of Blanchard, LA; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the staff at Live Oak Retirement Community for all their care and courtesy shown to Mrs. Langford. The family also wishes to thank Mrs. Langford's caregivers Annie Bonty and Pat Grissom for their many years of dedication and care.
