BOSSIER CITY, LA - Roy A. Spencer Sr. was born in Hot Springs, AR on January 8, 1933 and passed away September 14, 2011. He was a resident of Bossier City for the past 46 years. Roy served in the Army in the Korean War and retired from the Air Force. He owned Spencer Corner Shell Service Station in the community for many years. Roy had a passion for golf, Parkway athletics and his country.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Betty, and five children whom he loved dearly, Debbie Worley and husband Pat, James Spencer and wife Joana, Cindy Klein and husband Steve, Roy Spencer Jr. and wife Kathy, Wendy Boteler and husband Ronny. His memory will also be cherished by 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; three brothers, James H. Spencer of Modesto, CA, Edward Spencer of Mt. Vernon, MO, Daniel Spencer of Fort Worth, TX and sister, Carol Smith of Grapevine, TX.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 16, 2011 at Bellaire Baptist Church, 1210 Bellaire Blvd, Bossier City. Officiating will be Dr. Randy Harper, pastor.
