Officiating will be Brother Jeff. Visitation will be held before the service on Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Peggy was born on December 27, 1934 in Clear Lake, TX. She passed away on December 11, 2011 at her home. She was a resident of Shreveport since she was 13 and chose being a homemaker as her life long calling.
Preceding Peggy in death were her parents, Lillie and William Killian; brother, Kenneth Killian and sister, Billie Hale. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 59 years, 63 counting their courtship, Wilbur Shoemake, Jr.; daughters, Rhonda Shoemake, Teri Shoemake-Stadtlander, Lisa Shoemake and Diane Gleeson; granddaughter, Mallory Stadtlander; siblings, Betty Lockett, Helen Poole and Darrel Killian, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her biggest joy in life was caring for her family in whatever capacity that was needed. She had a quiet stubbornness about her that made you want to not only please her but make her happy. She had the ability to take seemingly insignificant moments and turn them into memories. She also enjoyed working in the garden but the most excitement she displayed, other than being with her family, was watching her beloved Cowboys; even lose or draw, she was a true fan. Anyone, whose life was touched by her, came away a better person for having known her.
"To have a Mother is God's blessing; to have a Mother and a best friend is the greatest gift of all."
Special thanks to Dr., Brady, Dr. Smith, Ms. Elaine; all support staff and Ms. Cynthia and girls at Walgreens.
